As a sign that the club is really going form strength to strength this season has seen some amazing results from all of our league teams across the South Manchester and Manchester and District League divisions!
We were delighted to see a hotly contested nail biter of a season between The Albert Club and our Northern Aces Mens A team go to to the final match of the season, resulting in a fantastic League Div 1 win for our club with a magnificent 11-1 battering away from home on the Albert home turf. Thanks and congratulations to Stuart L and all of the players this year - this is a really great result and shows the hard work that you are all putting in is paying off!
Believe it or not on the same night an equally furious battle, depending on the last match of the season was going on in the Manchester and District match between the NA womens team and rivals for the title and oft time winners of the league , Prestwich.
Fabulous turn out from the dream team ensured that despite the rain coming in at the end , we battered the opposition in front of the home crowd and put to bed the injustices of last year showing that we have the spirit in the team to do the job! Well done to Captain Louisa Howe and especially big thanks to this seasons new recruits Liz, Jill, Natalie and Chloi for adding new strength to the squad. We did share the prosecco with the opposition ...honest!
This year our Mens B team had a great season having been promoted into Division 2 of the South Manchester League this year. Not only does Captain Michael Crook do a great job on reporting the match details on the Facebook page, ( if you haven't seen them take a look as some of them are a real giggle!) but he has also led them to an excellent Div 2 finish of 4th this season, which is a serious achievement given that some weeks the squad availability was pretty thin on the ground. Congrats to all of the members who helped make the B team the dream team this year!
