The Rotator Doubles Tournament Format

If you have qualified you will be personally invited to play. Players are responsible for bringing their own water and any food they require. We encourage the use of reusable water bottles.

NA Rotator Rules - quick guide

• Players will be split into 2 groups, based on ability, to create the starting pairs. Every player from the Federer Group will be partnered with a player from the Williams Group.

• Each match will consist of 5 games, and all 5 games will be played (ie. not best of 5).

• At deuce it will be sudden death point (receivers choice).

• If a pair are one game ahead, their opposition start the game with one free point (ie. 15-0, or 0-15). The server will start from the advantage side.

• If a pair are two, three, or four games ahead, their opposition start the game with two free points (ie. 30-0, or 0-30). The server will start from the deuce side.

• If the game tally is equal, there will be no points handicap.

• Every game won equates to one point.

At the end of the 5 games, players scores are entered on the sheet using a running tally system. Each player has an individual score. A player’s overall score is the sum of how many games are won each match.

• When a round has finished (all matches finished on all courts) the winners move down a court and split. The losing pair will stay on the same court and split. This means players will play against their previous partner.

• After all the rounds are done, scores are compared. 

• The main final will be winner of the Federer Group playing with the runner-up of the Williams Group against the winner of the Williams Group and the runner up of the Federer Group. Other finals will be arranged in the same manner.

• In the event of a tie on points, the player with the most match wins (3+ games per match), will be placed higher.
