about us

We are a non-profit LGBTIQ+ sports group, run by volunteers and committee members. We hold weekly social tennis sessions and also host competitive tournaments throughout the year.

We only ask that you can at least know the rules and can hold a simple rally. We are a social tennis club, and unfortunately do not offer any coaching or lessons.

We do occasionally run 'rusty rackets', a session aimed at beginners new to the sport. Just message us to find out more about this.

Whatever your level of tennis, we welcome all members of the LGBTQI+ community who want to play tennis and meet new like-minded people who share a love and passion for tennis.

all out. all season.

Growing membership and popularity led to regular social tennis sessions and participation in the London GLTA (Gay and Lesbian Tennis Alliance).

2005

Northern Aces hosted its own 3 day international tournament, now an annual event. We achieved full GLTA status in 2009. Today, this is called 'Kiss My Ace'.

today

Northern Aces continue to host Kiss My Ace, enter competitive tennis leagues, participate in pride events and host anyone with a passion for inclusive tennis.

our ethos

Northern Aces welcomes everyone over the age of 18 who identify as lesbian, gay, bixsexual, transgender or queer, as well as individuals who accept and support the needs of such a group. Membership is open to any player regardless of ability, from long forgotten technique to league players. The aim of Northern Aces is to provide a friendly environment where we can all learn and improve our game, on and off court.
