Northern Aces Tennis Group is one of the great success stories of GLTB sport in the UK. This mixed tennis Group boasts over 70 members, and by facilitating weekly tennis sessions, professional coaching as well as organising regular tournaments it provides a great opportunity for GLTB people in and around Manchester to play and improve their tennis in a friendly, relaxed and sociable atmosphere.
This is the Group’s 4th International Tennis Tournament (1st GLTA) and is being organised in accordance with GLTA rules. Competition will be held in men’s, women’s and mixed categories at all levels Open; A; B; C and D and a Consolation Tournament will be played in the Singles events. All Tournament Finals will be held on Sunday 21st September and we would love to see as many spectators as possible, for these as well as all other matches being played.
The venue for the Tournament is the Regional tennis Centre at Sportcity, which has a mix of indoor hard court (‘U.S. Open’) and outdoor (tarmac) courts. Sportcity has a good cafe bar, changing room facilities and showers, as well as providing secure parking. A qualified physiotherapist will be on hand throughout the Tournament. Sportcity is accessible by public transport.
Northern Aces are looking forward to welcoming participants from all over Europe having previously hosted players from Belgium, France, Germany, Switzerland and Spain. A special social event is being organised by Northern Aces for all participants in the Tournament, which if previous tournaments are anything to go by will be of a very high standard and a whole lot of fun! We look forward to seeing you in September.

As part of your membership this year, you are entitled to receive a stylish Northern Aces-logo'd polo-type t-shirt, for you to wear with pride at Saturday sessions or at tournaments (or in town on Saturday nights if you wish).
Your committee have selected a choice of t-shirts, and we are pleased to offer TWO designs for men's, and also TWO designs for ladies. Furthermore, you can choose your colour as well. It can be navy with white logo, or white with navy logo.
As a priority, we intend to obtain a batch of t-shirts for those members participating in the Amsterdam and Madrid tournaments. Other members may select their shirts but they may be included in a later batch.
Samples of all the shirts will be available at our Saturday session tomorrow, and if you want a shirt in time for Amsterdam, you must give David Perks your order by tomorrow. If you cannot go tomorrow but you would like a shirt, please call David to put your order in. 07818 066035.
